CancerCare is a local charity dedicated to the support of people with cancer, their families and their carers, and those bereaved by cancer. Their services are available to anyone in North Lancashire and South Lakeland, and have been developed in response to the expressed needs of those whose lives are affected by cancer. The Children and Young Persons service at CancerCare offers comprehensive support to all young people and families throughout the cancer journey. They welcome young people from the age of 3 who may have cancer themselves, be a relative of someone with cancer, or are bereaved by cancer. All CancerCare’s services are provided free of charge.
They have now expanded their counselling service and are now offering free professional therapy for anyone who is struggling to cope with feelings of grief due to bereavement for any reason across north Lancashire (including Lancaster and Morecambe) South Lakeland (including Kendal and surrounding towns and villages) and Furness (including Barrow and Ulverston) – not just as a result of cancer.
