Babies, children and young people of all ages can be diagnosed with a liver condition. At the point of diagnosis each family faces a range of issues from needing vital information and help with coping with uncertainty to living with liver disease. Despite advances in treatment, young people continue to die from childhood liver disease. But CLDF support doesn’t stop – it continues for you and your family whenever you need it. Whether you’d like to share something that helped you in your bereavement journey, talk about the hurdles you are facing, or simply express how you are feeling right now, CLDF is here for you. If you feel you cannot let them know that your child has died, please ask the hospital, a friend or relative to let them know. A member of the family services team will get in touch with you as soon as possible. CLDF’s bereavement service includes: – A range of literature for you and other children in your family – A memory book in which your child’s name is honoured, available to view at CLDF’s offices in Birmingham and at its Family Conference and Memorial Day events – A specially designed journey box for your child’s precious mementos – An In Memory column in CLDF’s bi-annual magazine Delivery – Annual Memorial Day and family picnic – CLDF on-call – 24/7 telephone or e-mail support
