This service is staffed by qualified counsellors who provide therapy over an agreed period of time for children and young people who are reacting to changes in their lives. Common themes are relationships, bullying, loss and traumatic events. The counselling appointments are on an individual basis. If any one wishes to access counselling for a child or young person a referral is needed from someone in the health, education or social services fields via the established referral pathways.
They can also provide training, and consultancy for other organisations. Counselling is provided at Community CAMHS bases in Southwick, Hendon and Washington.
