MBSS – supports mothers who have experienced a bereavement from early loss to any age and also provide some family support. They are a voluntary befriending services which operates over the phone. Their volunteers speak English, Urdu and Punjabi and they have a Muslim Chaplain within their volunteers.
They provide awareness sessions for other organisations interested in learning more about bereavement and death in the Muslim community.
They also work with other organisations, the NHS and hospices in particular, to give a spiritual context to the bereavement support services they offer.
