Rainbows is a structured programme to help children talk through their feelings with other children who are experiencing loss in their family. The Rainbows programme helps by providing a safe setting with adult facilitators and materials, journals, storybooks, games and creative activities to help lead them gently through the grieving process.
The children can be referred to us by parents themselves or schools. This service is free to the families and schools as we have received funding through Calderdale’s Local Transformation Plan, to support this project.
Counselling/psychotherapy to young people aged 11-21, and therapeutic play to children aged 5-11. Counselling offers a safe and confidential space to talk freely and openly to someone who is not a family member or a friend. For children we ask for a commitment to 12 sessions; for young people we advise a commitment to 12 sessions, and an understanding they may require up to a maximum of 24 sessions.
