This care also extends to people in our community with no connection to the Hospice and we offer bereavement counselling to adults in County Durham:
- who have a life-limiting illness themselves
- who have someone they care about that has a life-limiting illness
- who have experienced bereavement through a life-limiting illness
This service is both free and confidential. Referrals can be made by any health professional using the forms at the bottom of this page.
Our Children’s Bereavement Service, the Jigsaw Project, works with Children and Young People who have experienced bereavement. We have a specially designed children’s area in the Hospice where our experienced counsellors can help families through difficult times. This service is open to referrals from the whole of County Durham and is available to any child affected by grief or anticipatory grief relating to family, relatives and friends.
