Step by Step Samaritans

Last updated July 5, 2022.

About Listing

A Samaritans service that provides support to help schools prepare for and recover from a suspected or attempted suicide. Also supports organisations working with young people so that they can respond effectively following the suspected or attempted suicide of someone within their community; taking practical steps to reduce the risk of further deaths in the area.

The service is offered by specialist volunteers, called Postvention Advisors, who offer practical support, guidance and information on addressing the impact of suicide.

When life is difficult, Samaritans are here – day or night, 365 days a year.

You can call them free on 116 123 (within the UK or Ireland) or email them at jo@samaritans.org.

Whoever you are and whatever you’re facing, they won’t judge you or tell you what to do. They’re here to listen so you don’t have to face it alone.
