The Brigitte Trust is an independent registered charity offering a free service of emotional support and practical help from trained and supported volunteers. The service is for adults and their carers living in every Surrey borough and facing the challenges of life-limiting conditions including cancer, Motor neurone Disease and Multiple sclerosis.
Bereavement Support: – Volunteer support to a client family extends beyond the funeral with visits for up to three months if requested, with time to remember together. Volunteers can also find ongoing help for their clients from specialist partner charities and local support groups, as well as help with practical issues like paperwork, or just sitting quietly and listening.
The Brigitte Trust is running free structured 8-week bereavement programmes run by a professional facilitator for anyone in Surrey struggling with their own grief and bereavement. The sessions are limited to a maximum of 12 people and will be offered in different parts of Surrey according to need.
