About Listing

The aim of our service is to provide support to children and young children aged 5-19, to help them understand and cope with their loss and to promote health and wellbeing of each child. The service provides direct access to counselling for those children and young people experiencing loss and bereavement throughout the Borough of Wigan. The project runs from Monday to Friday with some provision for out of hours sessions. All you need to do is ring and make a referral. After the initial session if we can help (some people may need more help than we can give) appointments will be made for as long as the child/young person needs help. The school counselling project offers a bought in service in secondary and primary schools, working to a service level agreement. We offer a generic counselling service working with young people who have social, emotional or behavioural problems. Providing the service in school offers equal access to all. A list of the schools that benefit from this service or more information can be obtained by telephoning 01942 867888.
