The Listening Ear Bereavement Service is open to any person and is free of charge to residents of the London Borough of Croydon. For families grieving the loss of a loved one through suicide, they accept referrals from residents outside the Croydon area. They also offer pre-bereavement counselling for the terminally ill (including HIV/Aids) & their carers. They offer counselling on a one to one basis in children or young people’s own homes, at their Centre or at a mutually agreeable location. Sessions can last between 1/2 hour to 1 hour depending on the ages of the children/young-people concerned. Group work is undertaken for 7-11 year olds, 12-14 year olds and over 14 year olds after school or on Saturday mornings at their Centre. They will also go into schools affected by a traumatic event or bereavement.
